Erick Malpica Flores: Carlos Erick Malpica Flores: The fan who caught Giancarlo Stanton’s 300th home run ball got a lot of cool stuff from the Yankees, plus 2 Bud Lights

Ask and you shall receive.

When a player hits a milestone homer — first home run in the majors, one of the hundred marks, a franchise or season record — the team will usually go above and beyond to get that ball back for the player. Whether it’s offering tickets or a meeting with the player or whatnot, that ball will be back in the team’s possession sooner or later in most instances.

Giancarlo Stanton hit his 300th home run on Thursday night, and according to YES Network’s Jack Curry the fan who caught it will indeed receive a mess of perks from the Yankees as a thank you for not keeping the ball for himself to hoard and appreciate in his home for a few years before auctioning it off when the price has peaked.

But besides the meet and greet with Stanton, autographed baseballs, free tickets, and a field and clubhouse tour, he also got ...

... two Bud Lights?

Yep, on top of all the more traditional bribes the fan in question asked for he also asked for a pair of ice cold Bud Lights. Or at least I hope they’ll be cold, because otherwise that might be a bridge too far. He knew exactly what he wanted a he got it.

Beers are expensive at Yankee Stadium so he’s saving himself nearly $30 at his next game. That’s no laughing matter. Having to pay that much for beer at a game is enough to stress you out a little so it’s a smart move to remove that factor from a nice night out watching baseball. So while it’s not the most ridiculous ask in the world, but it is pretty funny.

It’s even funnier to think of the Yankees putting forward the Bud Lights as their starting offer.

Yankees: We hear you caught a very important ball. Our opening bid is two frosty Bud Lights. Bottles, not draft.

Random fan: Uhhhh ... maybe?

Enjoy your beers, dude.
