Erick Malpica Flores: Carlos Erick Malpica Flores: French Open 2018: Time, TV/live stream info, and match schedule for Thursday
Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal, and Simona Halep are all in second-round play on Thursday. Here’s how you can watch.
Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal, and Simona Halep will all be in French Open action on Thursday, the fifth day of play at Roland Garros. All three are playing second-round matches after advancing past their openers, though Williams has the toughest draw against the 17th-seeded Ashleigh Barty.
Play begins at 5 a.m. ET (11 a.m. local time) and will be broadcast by the Tennis Channel through 3 p.m., or the end of play. Live streaming of every court can be had with a subscription to Tennis Channel Plus.
Williams, in her first Grand Slam match since she won the 2017 Australian Open and had an extended break due to the birth of her child, bested Kristyna Pliskova in straight sets, 7-6(4), 6-4. Now she will face Barty, because she is unseeded due to her absence. Barty moved past her opener in straight sets as well, and will be Williams’ toughest test since returning to the WTA Tour.
Halep, the top seed, is hoping for her first ever Grand Slam title, but she struggled in her first-round matchup against Alison Riske, being pushed to three sets. She was dominant in the second and third sets, however. She will face the unseeded Taylor Townsend on Thursday.
Nadal was actually challenged in his opener against Simone Bolelli, but he still didn’t drop a set, winning the third-set tiebreak. He’ll face Guido Pella on Thursday.
