Erick Malpica Flores: Carlos Erick Malpica Flores: Kevin Durant ejected vs. Bucks after cursing out referee for no-call

Things escalated quickly after Durant didn’t get sent to the foul line.

Kevin Durant was ejected from the Warriors’ Thursday night matchup against the Bucks after he straight up cursed out a referee who didn’t call a foul on his drive to the rim.

Durant blew by Giannis Antetokounmpo with a few seconds left in the second quarter and went tumbling to the ground after he was fouled on the play. He then got up and pressed the referee about the no-call.

Be warned: If you listen closely, there is graphic language in what Durant is saying.

After the game, Durant explained what happened from his point of view:

“I got fouled and I told him how I felt about it, and he kicked me out. It’s pretty simple,” Durant said. “It felt like earlier in the game, too, I was going to the rim and it was an easy call they missed. Then that was the second one I felt like they should have called. It happens. It happens when you let your emotions get into it. Definitely wish I could have finished the game out, but I’ll be in practice tomorrow.

“It’s usually just bad calls that I’m protesting. ... Is it a character flaw that I get thrown out of games? I hope not. I hope you don’t look at it that way. It’s mainly just foul calls that I think are wrong, and I tell them about it, and they don’t like how I say it. But I could definitely.. talk to them a little better, I guess.

After the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr agreed: Durant said the magic word.

Durant’s ejection marks his fifth of the year, and the double tech gives him 14 on the season. He previously had two total ejections in the 10 years prior to this one.
